Day 13: Home

Lucky 13 saw us return safely home after an uneventful ferry crossing followed by an uneventful but long day ride up the North Island. 7 hours on a KTM 500 is it’s own special penance but worth it for the preceding 12 days.
All that remains is to thank my friends for joining me on another trip, leaving good memories in our wake.
Particularly Dave Lear for doing the lion’s share of the organising and doing it so well. That he would take the time to fall off his bike in public places just demonstrates how thoughtful he is. Your company is always appreciated. Thanks Dave.
Thanks Bernie for being the calm and confidence inspiring member of the group. It made things like tackling the Awakino saddle so much more enjoyable.
Your wisdom and insight into all things is much appreciated.
Thanks to Dave Mac for getting out of bed when he didn’t want to. Soldiering on in the way you did with your buggered hip was truly inspirational. There are not many people who could have done what you did.
Till next time.
